The internet is getting a second user.
Your company's agent will talk to their company's agent. The space between us becomes something AI runs.
Parcel 2 of 10. Today the web is built for people who click.
Every shopfront on this block is a page. A person walks up, reads, fills in a form and waits for a reply. The whole street assumes someone is standing at the glass.
Parcel 3 of 10. Every company gets an agent that speaks for it.
Behind each shopfront sits a terminal that knows the prices, the policies and what is in stock. It answers for the business at any hour, in a form a machine can read.
Parcel 4 of 10. Your agent talks to their agent.
No website in between. Mine asks, yours offers, mine counters, yours confirms. Each message gets a stamp for the layer it would use. Scripted example.
Parcel 5 of 10. The plumbing already exists.
MCP (Anthropic, 25 Nov 2024) connects an agent to tools. A2A (Google, 9 Apr 2025, now a Linux Foundation project) lets agents from different vendors talk. Payment protocols let them check out: Visa Intelligent Commerce and Mastercard Agent Pay (Apr 2025), Google AP2 (16 Sep 2025), Stripe and OpenAI's Agentic Commerce Protocol (29 Sep 2025), and in 2026 the Universal Commerce Protocol from Shopify and Google (11 Jan 2026).
Parcel 6 of 10. Forms, search pages and contact sales fall away.
An agent does not fill in a form, scroll ten results or wait for a rep. It asks the one agent that knows.
Parcel 7 of 10. Negotiation, verification and reputation move in.
When agents deal with agents, the work moves into the gaps: haggling over terms, checking who is who, and keeping score of who delivered.
Parcel 8 of 10. The space between becomes a market agents run.
Zoom out and the street is a network. Parcels hop from agent to agent and nobody is in the loop. One law holds: nothing moves until an agent passes it.
Parcel 9 of 10. The real risk is trust.
Who is this agent, and is it allowed to do this? A parcel with no credentials stops at the gate. So does one whose credential does not cover the job. A2A v1.0 (Linux Foundation, 9 Apr 2026) adds Signed Agent Cards, and AP2 payments carry signed mandates.
Parcel 10 of 10. Build your agent before someone else's agent decides for you.
I already run this. Codex and Claude hand work to each other. A messaging agent routes my requests to coding agents. An agent deployed this portfolio by calling another company's agent tools.
